Children's Ski Group Lesson
From the first slide in the Snowgarden to confident turns on the mountain – children aged 4 to 17 learn in small groups, grouped by level rather than age.
Learning to ski at your own pace
At Bärenbande Arosa, children learn to ski at different levels, each tailored to their needs. The youngest gain their first experience in the snow in the specially designed children's area with colourful figures and magic carpets, while older children become increasingly independent on the pistes of Arosa Lenzerheide.
Lessons follow the Swiss Snow League system. On the first day of the lesson, our snowsports instructors assess each child's level and group them accordingly – so no one is over- or under-challenged.

Full day or half day
Two paths into the children's program – depending on how much time a family wants to spend on the mountain.
Full day
Morning 09:45–12:00 and afternoon 14:00–16:15, with a lunch break in between. Bookable for 3, 5, 6 or 12 days. The most intensive option for the greatest learning progress in one week.
Half day, afternoon
One block per day, always in the afternoon from 14:00 to 16:15, bookable for 3, 5 or 6 half days. Practical for shorter stays or if you would like to keep half the day for family time.
How a lesson day works

Meeting point and grouping
Please arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the class starts: Innerarosa Ski School Centre for Snowgarden and Blue League, Tschuggen assembly point for Red League and Black League. On the first day the level is assessed and the group assigned.
Lessons on the slope
Mornings 09:45–12:00, afternoons 14:00–16:15. Depending on level, the lesson ranges from the children's area to the blue and red slopes around Innerarosa and Tschuggen, and at higher levels sometimes includes a day trip to Lenzerheide.
Lunchtime supervision
There is a lunch break between the blocks on the full-day course. Lunch can be added by email at fun@sssa.ch for CHF 30 between 12:00 and 14:00, subject to availability – payment and ticket collection must be completed by 09:30 on the same day.
From the Snowgarden to the Black League
Our groups follow the national learning system of Swiss Snowsports. Each level has clear learning goals, its own badge and a fixed meeting point.
Blue League
After the Snowgarden comes Blue Prince/Princess, Blue King/Queen and Blue Star: gliding, stopping, snowplough turns and using the lift independently. Meeting point is the Innerarosa ski school centre.
Red League
Red Prince/Princess, Red King/Queen and Red Star: parallel ski stance, short and long turns and the first red slopes. Meeting point is the Tschuggen meeting area.
Black League
Black Prince/Princess and Black Academy – the premier class: carving, moguls, powder and gate training for the most ambitious kids. Meeting point is likewise the Tschuggen assembly point.
Ski group lesson for children
Full-day and half-day lessons are booked via separate booking links. These are from-prices; the price shown in the booking system is binding.
Group lessons from 3 people; groups may be combined during low season. Until and including 31.10., you receive a 10% discount on snowsports courses and season passes; from 1.11., a 5% discount applies when booking up to 30 days before the course starts. Lift tickets must be purchased separately; children up to and including age 5 receive a free Arosa Lenzerheide lift ticket but still need a ticket. Extension day from 3 course days, supplementary lesson for the day trip from 3 lessons. Lunch is reserved by email at fun@sssa.ch; the ticket must be paid for, collected and given to the child by 09:30 on the same day. The optional day trip to Lenzerheide costs CHF 30 for lunch and supervision; if the child only has an afternoon ticket, the morning must be booked as a supplementary lesson. Tickets are personal and non-transferable.
After the ski lesson or as an alternative
Taster lesson
For children aged 2 to 5, accompanied by their parents – the ideal first contact with the children's area before the group lesson becomes an option.
Children's snowboarding
An alternative to skiing from around age 7 – same principle with level grouping, full-day and half-day lesson.

Frequently asked questions about the ski group lesson
From what age can children join the group lesson?
The ski group lesson is for children aged 4 to 17. An exception is possible if a younger child has successfully completed the taster lesson and is recommended for it by the snowsports instructor.
How are children grouped?
Groups are formed according to Swiss Snow League level, not by age. Nine levels lead from the first steps in the Snowgarden to the slopes of the Red and Black League.
Full day or half day – what's the difference?
The full-day course takes place from 09:45 to 12:00 in the morning and from 14:00 to 16:15 in the afternoon. The half-day course takes place exclusively in the afternoon from 14:00 to 16:15 – we offer children's courses only as full-day or afternoon courses. Both are reserved through separate booking links.
Is there lunchtime supervision?
Lunch between 12:00 and 14:00 can be added by email at fun@sssa.ch for CHF 30, subject to availability. Payment and ticket collection must be completed by 09:30 on the same day, otherwise the reservation will expire.
What do children need to bring to the lesson?
Suitable ski clothing, a helmet, your own or rented skis (poles are only needed from Blue Star level onward) and the lift ticket. Please bring the Swiss Snow League booklet if your child already has one.
Which language are the group courses taught in?
Group lessons are taught in German, with parallel English on request. Other languages are only available in combination with private lessons, subject to availability.
What is the Snowgarden?
Snowgarden is the first level of the Swiss Snow League for the youngest and least experienced children. Lessons take place in the children's area with a magic carpet, figures and fun courses, directly at the Innerarosa ski school centre.
